Voice of the Kingfisher speaks out …from a different perspective

Are We the Masters of our Fate?
December 29, 2008
Men come from one of two points of view with respect to conducting the affairs of the nations. The world view states that man is in charge of his own affairs – “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul (taken from William Ernest Henley’s poem, Invictus).” To the contrary, the man who submits to the truth of God knows, through spiritual discernment, that God is the Master of his fate and He is the Captain of his soul. Likewise, God is the Ruler over all nations.
Henley, like all self-willed, godless men who adhere to the world view, does not realize his soul is, in fact, still in the pit covered over by the darkness of the night. In this place, he is without knowledge of the one true God Who will ultimately make the final decision concerning men’s souls. Henley admits in his poem that he does not know Who God is. No wonder Henley was as self-absorbed and self-assured as to think that he had an unconquerable soul! Satan is just waiting in the wings to grasp such souls.
Those of the world view, which is a religious view, have no idea that it is a view based on religion, liberalism, speculative theories, trial and error, being without any solid foundation. They call them the sciences, demanding proof of Biblical truth, yet the substance of the sciences, upon which they rely, is ever-changing only to reveal that knowledge has none of the assurances and proofs that truth offers.
In their frustration for need of proof, those of the world view will reach the point of claiming that there is no truth, but rather all things are relative. The humanist cry for proof will lead men to the point of discovering that there is no perfect science or perfect philosophy until they both come into perfect line with the Bible.
Theories are only valid until new evidence reveals new ‘truths’, better labeled ‘new theories’. Any absolute statement of scientific fact must, by nature, blend in to become a truth of God, which is revealed long before men of science discover it.
For example, to answer the question – “Does a round world exist?” – the answer is “Yes”, for it is a truth of God. “Am I able to see it all at once?” The answer is “No”. In requiring proof of the world’s round form, the matter would seem to be debatable to the human mind, simply on the basis that its shape cannot be seen. For millennia, men thought the world was flat. However, the truth, which existed in the beginning, remains truth, regardless of my perception.
The circle of the earth does exist outside of the realm of anyone’s perception of its existence. By information and the witness of others, it would appear to me to be a truth – still, I cannot prove it. Even though I cannot experience it in totality, I am unable to conclude that it does not exist in its roundness any more than it does – that is to say, until man circled the earth and came back to his starting point, and then went on to travel in space and was able to photograph the round earth. However, the prophet Isaiah spoke of the circle of the earth, approximately 2700 years ago, while scientists and the wise men of the world view were playing catch-up with the spiritual man and Biblical truth.
Though the kingdom of God is not visible to man, he cannot conclude that it doesn’t exist simply because he has had no experience of it or cannot see it.
I accept the advances in medicine through the research of trial and error. But there are no real truths in medical science outside of those already presented in the Bible. It is not a perfect science where one can say the truths of yesterday are as true now as they were then. In fact, medicine is ever evolving.
Bleeding one, as a cure for disease 250 years ago, by no means serves as a process for healing those same diseases today. Yesterday’s ‘truths’ of medicine could well be today’s ‘falsehoods’. They were nothing more than theories. Hence the term of medical advancements.
Yesterday’s spiritual truths of the Bible remain today’s spiritual truths, for they come from a God Who knows the beginning and the ending. His knowledge is not limited, as is that of the carnal mind. God’s Word is written under the guiding hand of the Spirit; so it is written, therefore, in the spirit of prophecy. This is an undeniable truth, which never changes, proving only God to be the Author of that which His prophets and scribes have penned.
The carnal mind can predict by guesswork but cannot prophesy in accuracy unless led by the Spirit. The predictions of men are full of error and, at best, can only be relatively accurate. Crystal-ball-gazing is nothing more than witchcraft and mysticism. To the contrary, the prophecy of God is without error and is not subject to any experiments. God knows throughout eternity that which man’s carnal mind has yet to discover. Science will never disprove the Bible.
Sadly, nations function mostly on the humanist authority of the carnal mind instead of on the authority of God. Religious lies and falsehoods, and not spiritual truths, are now ruling over the minds of the government leaders of America today, which makes this nation no different from the other nations of the world. Political correctness offers no substance, whatsoever, for a strong government; spiritual truths do. Much of the Bible deals with the problem of nations, which try to function apart from God’s truth. Prophecy reveals exactly what will happen to such nations.
Only the nation that has had the privilege of laws based on God’s truth and justice will ever have liberty – provided such a nation chooses to be obedient to Him and reject the spiritual pollution that comes with separation from the truth. Spiritual pollution opens the door for political correctness. It is a satanic ploy to come against the truth of the Lord God in order to destroy His people. Al Gore has yet to learn that it is not the pollution of cars and industry, which will destroy America’s environment, but rather it is the spiritual and moral pollution of a spiritually corrupt society that will take her down.
There is no greater example of this than the story of Balak and Balaam in the book of Numbers. Israel was becoming a growing power and threat to the nations of her known world when departing from Egypt under Moses. Her success was assured until multiculturalism was found in her and she compromised her God with the gods of the world. Treating other gods as the equal of the one true God was at the source of the problem, which brought down the fierce wrath of God. Wherever there is multiculturalism one will always find moral corruption and witchcraft as the destructive forces riding side by side with it.
America has long passed the point of having victory under God and protection from her enemies. She is badly in need of spiritual guidance infinitely more than she needs the Balaams of political correctness that have less than the spiritual understanding of a donkey, when it comes to running a nation and leading it to victory over her enemies. The enemies of America are found among her elected officials, and a Biblically-illiterate, dumbed-down society that has no idea it is sitting on the edge of a cliff, over which it is about to tumble.
Isn’t it wonderful that God can raise up the voice of a donkey to instill some common sense into the situation? Whether or not the nation will have ears to hear depends on whether or not she repents and begins to listen to the voice that speaks for God. It would seem the ears of a donkey have much better hearing than the ears of twenty-first century Americans.
The world is in a spiritual battle today, which is manifested in the natural realm. It is only by the application of spiritual truths and not by the religion of a world view that America will survive. The world view will go the way of all world views, which will lead America from autonomy over her own affairs under God into a One World Order in captivity to the secular world, ruled by scrapping religions.
Wake up America, and hear the voice of the Spirit and the bride calling! There will be no victory for the nation, unless it responds to the voice of the prophet of Israel through whom God speaks. It was true for Israel yesterday, and it will be true for America today.
I would suggest that Mr. Henley, who died in 1903, will discover that it does matter how straight the gate and how charged with punishment is the scroll. All men will come to the knowledge that they are not “whatever gods”, but rather the one true God Who is the Master of their fate and the Captain of their souls.
Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
