Through the Eyes of Understanding

Voice of the Kingfisher speaks out  from a different perspective                                                           by Elinor Montgomery Through the Eyes of UnderstandingJanuary 18, 2008 Do you wear glasses? Then you understand what it is like to try to read without them. For me, there is but a blur before my eyes, and it is impossible to distinguish the words. How much more difficult is it to read the signs of the times without the compass of the Bible? The Bible tells us about the beginning of time, and prophesies about the end of time, describing every step of the way in between. How does it begin? It begins with God saying, “Let there be light” and Jesus said that He is the Light of the world. One can then conclude that it is impossible to either see or read without Him. Have you ever stopped to think that you can only see to do anything at all because Jesus entered this world first, to prepare the way for your entry? As you race about all day with your busy schedule, have you taken time to stop and think about it? You are able to carry out your work, only because of Jesus.  How is it that pagan religions, such as Islam, ask their employers to provide prayer rooms in the workplace? Yet as Christians, you have not seen fit to demand such a place where you could give thanks to the one true God and Creator in a country over which He, and not the pagan god Allah, rules? Is there not something wrong with this picture? John, the apostle, tells us more about the beginning of time. It is here we should begin our journey of discovery and then return to Genesis to watch truth unravel. He states, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it (John 1:1-5). Are we to understand that, in so far as we must put on our glasses to see things, it is necessary to turn to the Word of Jesus as well in order to gain understanding of what we see? John says this is exactly so, for the Word became flesh and dwelt among us in the person of Jesus, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (see John 1:14).  Now, if He is the Son of God, and if God says His portion of the people has its boundaries set according to the children of Israel (see Deuteronomy 32:7-9), then that means America’s boundaries now define the land of spiritual Israel. Has America not become the Israel of the new covenant where Jesus reigns supreme? It is for sure He never ruled over the nation Israel when He first came, for they would not receive Him. God drove the nation Israel from the Promised Land, but He can surely return her to the Land if He chooses. She will not be delivered into the Land by the United Nations writing a decree. Only Jesus is the way for Israel to receive the Promise. All peoples come into the House of Israel through Him. Each one must become a temple for the living Spirit, which breathes the breath of life and the Spirit of life into him/her. Then, if Jesus is the Word made flesh, where does it all begin for man today if not by delving into the Word of Jesus called the Bible? This is the only way to life through the eyes of understanding. We may put on our glasses to see, but without the Word, we will have no understanding of what we see. Now, Mr. Harper and Mr. Bush love to be seen carrying their Bibles. How is it that neither one seems to have opened it up to their understanding as the leaders of God’s country over which He rules? If they had read and understood the Word, then there would be some sign of their acting in obedience to the Lord, Who, they claim, rules over their lives.  How is it possible they would not insist that every child in every classroom of this nation has the opportunity to read the Book of Truth, for it, and it alone, gives light and understanding to the world around us? It is the only way to life for our children, for Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life. Mr. Harper and Mr. Bush have to be hypocrites to dare carry their Bibles and to then deny them to the children. No court has to approve the Bible in Canada. Our Constitution declares that the Bible is the truth upon which the court system is founded. A Canadian Court of Justice, which dares to rule out the Bible, rules out its foundation, and so should fall to be replaced by a proper judicial system in line with our Constitution.  The present challenge to the Human Rights Commission in Alberta is only the beginning. Clean-up is required in the entire judicial system beginning with the Charter of Rights, something inflicted on this nation, which has no place with our Constitution under God. The lives of seven young men of leadership qualities were snuffed out this week in a highway accident in Bathurst, New Brunswick. The city closed down as they were mourned by its citizens, all being touched in one way or another by their loss. At the same time, I look at thousands upon thousands of children sitting in their classrooms in the process of becoming victims like them. Life is being snuffed out of them as surely as it was snuffed out of these young men.  We are preventing our children from receiving the light of understanding, which can only come from the Word of God. The tragedy is that not even their parents care enough to do anything about it, while they allow their children to become victims of the political system and of the destroyer, Satan. Satan has no power over the Word. Do you not know the Word in flesh arose again from death to life? The Word of the Bible is the only thing that can save millions of children from the present death culture in which they find themselves. Maybe you don’t need glasses, Mr. Harper and Mr. Bush, but I rather suspect you both do. One thing is for sure; you need to most certainly stop carrying your Bibles and start reading them. You merely have to say the word, and back go the Bibles to the classrooms of the nation, for the Bible is not a religious book like any other book. The Bible is truth and does not depend on its validity to come from what anyone believes. That is irrelevant. Whether or not it offends anyone is also irrelevant. No one should have crossed our borders to become a citizen in a country ruled by God if he/she is offended by the Word of God.  What is relevant is that the law of this land is dependant upon the truth of the Bible for justice to be carried out in the nation. This Book validates itself with prophecy – the same prophecy, which will open our eyes to the understanding of what can and will save our children and our nation in this world gone wild. If we, as people of both the church and the government, continue to deprive our children of truth and life, I hate to even imagine the wrath of God on the Day of Judgment.  Parents, it is your duty to get off the money-making treadmill, on which you have put yourselves, and take time to look at what is going on in the educational systems of America, where the lives of our children are at stake. The schoolroom has become a war zone where Satan is battling to gain their souls with his culture of death.  Who ever heard of teaching children in the classroom to honor and respect such an abomination as homosexuality instead of teaching them the truth about it and about life in general? The health risks have just been multiplied again dramatically, as a new strain of disease has surfaced within the practices of this abhorrent lifestyle, which will probably claim thousands, nay millions, more lives than those which AIDS has already claimed. Give us a break, you fools of these times! Not only put on your glasses, but also open your Bibles and begin to read through the eyes of understanding. “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening’. Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times (Matthew 16:2-3).” www.voiceofthekingfisher.ca
