From One End of the Babylonian System to the Other
June 15, 2011
How is it that you do not know what the Babylonian System is? Is it that, with all your reading and education, you are still biblically illiterate? What good is education without the Word of God, the very One who created you and knows what makes you tick?
If Babylon were not important, then the Euphrates River would not be mentioned in Genesis among the four riverheads, which parted from the river that went out from Eden to water the Garden at Creation. These signify the spiritual waters that rule over this world, intended for good or evil, whichever the case may be, with the spiritual condition of the seven evil empires represented by the three rivers being used to chastise God’s people. Cush is as Egypt, and the spiritual waters of the Egyptian and Assyrian Empires were dried up in the Old Testament times, as they ceased to be world powers, before Christ came on the scene.
The Euphrates River is an entirely different story. From the time of Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian Empire and the captivity of Israel, to this day, the Babylonian system of empires remains very much alive and well. It is actively working to destroy the work of God with His people, Israel, both the nation and the spiritual nation, with the latter becoming the house of Israel, which Jesus came to save from out of this world of evil.
The battle has been raging continuously from the Garden, where man’s rebellion to God led to the rise of the antichrist spirit, to the present time when the Antichrist, himself, is about to rise up. It is in this spirit that Satan seeks to gain absolute control over the world to prevent the rule of God, which He is going to establish through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He came to save His own from the tyrannical rule of Satan’s empires with their death cultures; so this is the essence of the antichrist spirit, one which comes against anything to do with the Christ, who preserves life.
Jeremiah was the weeping prophet of Israel, who was given a vision of Israel’s spiritual condition from the beginning to the end of the Babylonian system. It began with the religious empire of Babylon taking Israel, the nation of God, captive because of her wicked ways and her rejection of God’s rule over her. It was not a pretty picture to see the pain, which rebellion would cause God’s people.
He was the prophet, Daniel, who was given a vision of the entire Babylonian system of empires coming out of Babylon with the spiritual waters of the Euphrates in command throughout the system, which would last for just over two and one half millennia until the present day, at which time the Euphrates will dry up (see Revelation 16:12) with the return of Jesus bringing with Him the living water of God that surrounded the Garden in the beginning, before there was any sin.
The four empires of the system of empires were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome – the last divided into two parts; the first part was at the time of Jesus’ birth and the second part will be at the time of His return to set up His kingdom on earth. The Roman Empire dominates the system with the Romanism of the church age holding together the early Roman Empire to the latter-day Roman Empire.
There is nothing holy about that which the world calls the Holy Roman Empire. It is named such for the purpose of deceiving and counterfeiting the holy kingdom of God. For the same reason, the unholy religious institutionalization of Christ’s church is counterfeited in the name of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. It is the root system and underpinning for the entire Christian church system, with its false Nicolaitan priesthood, which is apostate to this day. It is all part of the antichrist spirit battling against the Christ, even employing His name and using His Scriptures to do so. Jesus warned this would happen; “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ (the inerrant one and high priest),’ and will deceive many (Matthew 24:5).”
The Romanization of the church was weakened, and it began to falter when Luther disrupted the religious institutions of Catholicism to begin the move toward a purified church that would return to its apostolic roots. At roughly the same time God prepared a new world and a new land called America for His people of the church, which became the house of Israel, separated from the rule of the religious empires – a divided country made up of two nations under God, just as Israel had been divided.
The Romanism of Christianity was left behind in the Old World, and it was abhorred by the puritanical church of America, which effectively broke all ties with religious rulers, separating religion from government, to be replaced with God, His Law, and the truth of His Word (never to be confused with religion), as the foundation for its moral compass, for education and for the court system of the New World ruled by God, free of religious controls.
But history repeats itself, for Satan is always waiting in the wings of any move of God to attack it. He attacked the spiritual move to America with determination, until the spiritual nation went the same way as the natural nation of Israel. The church came under severe attack because she had never fully closed the door to the religion of Christianity. This gave Satan the entrée he did not have to the apostolic church of Jesus Christ; for the gates of hell could not prevail against it. The name Christian remained, and religion began to grow and spread like leaven in a loaf of bread, with the true church being held captive within the tomb of religion.
And so Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, in the beginning, speaks into the waning days of a rebellious people, Israel, but his weeping is also for the spiritual nation in America, the present-day corrupt church called the Christian church. He wept for the captivity of his people and prophesied into the entire posterity of Ephraim (the crossover blessing), from nation to spiritual nation, from one end of the Babylonian System to the other, in which we are presently living today (see Jeremiah 7:15).
To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot give heed. Behold, the word of the Lord is a reproach to them; they have no delight in it. Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord (Jeremiah 6:10-11).
“Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed; nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time I punish them, they shall be cast down,” says the Lord (Jeremiah 6:15).
“Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not heeded My words, nor My law, but rejected it (Jeremiah 6:19).”
Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place – on man and on beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and not be quenched (Jeremiah 7:20).”
Listen! The voice, the cry of the daughter of my people from a far country: “Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her King in her (Jeremiah 8:19)?”
“Everyone will deceive his neighbor, and will not speak the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me,” says the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, I will refine them and try them; for how shall I deal with the daughter of My people (Jeremiah 9:5-7)?”
Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through? And the Lord said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, but they have walked according to the imagination of their own heart and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them,” therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink (Jeremiah 9:12-15).”
“Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you (Jeremiah 7:16).”
Jesus did not pray for the world, but for those the Father had given Him; for they belonged to the Father (see John 17:9). None of them was lost except the son of perdition, Judas, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled (see John 17:12). Judas, like the Christian church today, refused to break ties with the religious priesthood. The difference between Judas and the other apostles was that he had not been washed clean of religion by the Word, in the same way that the others had been washed clean.
Jesus declared that the ones to whom He had given the Word were not of the world. He prayed for His apostolic followers that they might be sanctified by the Father’s truth – for His Word is truth. Then the Lord prayed not only for them alone, but also for all throughout the church age of the Babylonian captivity of Romanism who would believe on Him through the Word declared to them, that they might be made perfect in their relationship of oneness with Him – the Word made flesh, the way, the truth and the life.
There can be none of the leaven of Christianity left in this pure relationship. For the Babylonian System, from beginning to end, has been the purifying tool used by the hand of the Lord, to cleanse His people of the entire house of Israel.
