Pitting Oneself against God – The Fools of Proverbs

There are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs in which the word ‘fool’ is mentioned 37 times, ‘fool’s’ – 5 times, and ‘fools’ – 19 times, which is to say, in one form or another, 61 times in all, just one short of being mentioned two times per chapter, on average. The word fool is not pointing to mental deficiency, although it might appear so; the fool is one who is self-sufficient, ordering one’s life as if there were no God.
The book of Proverbs comes from the wisdom school of Israel. King Solomon was the chief contributor to the writings. According to Solomon’s request, God gave him a wise and understanding heart so that there was none like him, before him, nor would there arise anyone like him, after him (see 1 Kings 3:12). It was under Solomon’s rule that Israel reached her pinnacle – spiritually, politically and economically.
However, his character and his obedience to God’s Law went into sharp decline with his involvement in carnality, materialism and idolatry. Because of his behavior, the blessed nation of Israel under David was ripped from his throne of authority, except for the tribe of Judah, saved for the sake of his father David’s throne. That throne today is held by the true apostolic church, which is not part of any religious system, and to whom the King of kings and Lord of lords from the line of Judah, seated on the throne of heaven, gave the keys to the kingdom.
America was founded by a church in the process of purifying itself with its Puritan foundation separating the birthing nation from the rest of the nations of the world, which were religious states, except for the mother-land of Israel. Like Israel, America became a theocracy under God, the only other nation like her in the world, to become the spiritual Israel of the New World.
The Puritans, who influenced the formation of the Constitution of the United States, and ultimately the Canadian Constitution, wanted nothing to do with the religious controls of the Romanism of the Babylonian system. It came from out of the Babylonian system as the basis for the Roman Catholic religious system, from out of which Anglicanism arose to become the state religion of England at a much later time.
The Puritan era was a period that corresponded to the Cromwellian period and his attempt to rid England of the religious controls of her kings upon the state. It temporarily stopped the rule of kings, but this lasted only for a very short period of time, after which she reverted back to the monarchy. However, it culminated in an exodus of the Puritans from the British Isles to America in an effort to establish their freedom from the religious controls of the religious state.
One needs to recognize that in no way did this exodus include either Judaism or Islam. It was an exodus of the so-called church coming out of the Romanism of Christianity to become a godly heritage within a new and unsettled land. The Law of God and His Word of truth would prevail, as it had in Israel, with a theocracy, under God, replacing the religious/state nations under man’s rule.
The blessing lost to Israel, who forsook her inheritance under God to declare Caesar was her only king, was lavished upon America, with Canada following right behind to give God dominion from sea to sea, as declared on the stone of her Parliament Building. However, she did not make a full departure from England in the manner Israel did from Egypt. She retained ruler-ship of the monarchy, but totally separated from the control of the Anglican Church. Like the United States, she embraced the Law of God and His Word, the Bible, as the basis for truth, for both the government and the justice system.
Both nations kept the Bible at their borders, so that no one could enter without swearing allegiance to God and country upon this Book deemed to be truth. Anyone arriving on these shores as legal immigrants became either Canadians or Americans under God, without any hyphenated name of another country.
But the wisdom of Proverbs, from the wisdom school of Israel, kicked in only for a short period of time in this new land, until America began to go the way of Israel before her. She began to run with the blessing while, at the same time, beginning to pit herself against God. She became as the fools found throughout the biblical book of Proverbs.
What kind of fool would give foreign aid to the tune of millions of dollars to a country with a fast-growing economy like that of China, to whom she is in debt to the tune of trillions of dollars? It is difficult not to equate such actions to a nation without assuming it must be collectively suffering from some kind of mental deficiency, while the Chinese laugh their way all the way to the bank, where they wisely exchange the rapidly-churned-out American paper dollars for gold.
What kind of fool would open American borders to illegal immigrants to allow drug traffickers to pour into the country with illegal drugs, which will work their way down to our children to ultimately destroy and kill them? What kind of fool would allow illegals to take American jobs from the legals who are losing their homes and their means of income to provide for their families, because of such action?
What kind of fools would not just allow, but actually promote, a religion, hostile to its people in a land of liberty under God? We are speaking of a religion, which embraces a jihadist plan at the core of its philosophy for world domination achieved by killing all people who refuse to bow to Allah, instead of bowing only to their God, as commanded. This means the ultimate goal of this promoted religion is to kill off God-fearing Americans who have been forced to welcome this religion into America, so it can begin to set in motion its plan for killing right from within the ranks of its perceived enemy.
Take a close look at Dearborn, Michigan, where the church bells have been silenced because of Islamic demands to do so. What kind of fools are they who call themselves Christian, but are so easily swayed by the enemy to do its bidding and give up the Law created by God? Well, here is what He has to say about those who dig in their heels and pit themselves against Him.
“Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, because you disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, when your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, they would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil (Proverbs 1:24-33).”
The complacency of Canadian and American fools, sitting in the pews of what they call the Christian church, will see their institutions destroyed. In the book of Revelation, chapter 3, the Lord refers to them as the Laodicean church, lukewarm and neither cold nor hot. So, in His distaste for these present-day religious institutions, He will vomit them out of His mouth. His counsel to these pathetic creatures is to buy gold from Him, which is refined in fire, so that the church might really be rich, and to buy white garments so that it might be clothed from the shame of its nakedness to keep it from being revealed. He advises anointing one’s eyes with eye salve, so that one might see, which is to say, one might gain badly needed understanding.
Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all (Proverbs 28:5). Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he himself will fall into his own pit; but the blameless will inherit good things (Proverbs 28:10).
When a fool says in his heart there is no God, he pits himself against Him. Woe unto America, which has become two nations of fools, as was Israel before her. Surely we can see what has happened to Israel, a nation placed in the Middle East like a sitting duck at the center of her Islamic neighborhood of the jihadist religion, perched and ready to level its guns at her!
