Did Joshua Fight the Battle of Chick-fil-A?
July 28, 2012
After Joshua had fought the battle at Jericho, had been victorious and had become advanced in years, he called all of Israel together – their heads, their judges and their officers. He reminded them of all the Lord God had done for them in fighting their battles by driving the cults out of their land, and giving it all to them as far as the Great Sea westward. Joshua admonished the Hebrew children to be courageous and to keep and do all that was written in the Scriptures or Book of the Law of Moses, lest they should turn aside from them and become involved with the cults among them and their gods.
Then he gave the command that they were not to even mention the names of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them, serve them or bow down to them; they were to hold fast to the Lord their God. Joshua assured them that God had fought their battles, just as He had promised, and that no nation had been able to stand against them. Therefore, he called for them to be diligent about loving the Lord their God and concluded with these words:
“Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations – these that remain among you – and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you, know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which the Lord your God has given you. Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you, and not one word of them has failed. Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all the good things have come upon you which the Lord your God promised you, so the Lord will bring upon you all harmful things, until He has destroyed you from this good land which the Lord your God has given you. When you have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed down to them, then the anger of the Lord will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which He has given you (Joshua 23:12-16).”
Like Israel, God brought His people to America and gave them the land so He could rule over them as far as the Great Sea westward. We chose to establish the same Law of Moses, as did Joshua, and we made a covenant with God that He would rule from sea to sea and that in Him we would trust.
But then, like Israel, we forgot the Lord our God and instead of keeping His Word at the borders of entry, we invited the cultic nations, from which He had separated us, into the land our parents had struggled so hard to provide as a godly inheritance for us. Before we knew it, we, the people of God, had chosen to give up the Bible, which has resulted in a nation full of jackasses; the book of Proverbs calls them fools.
Yesterday, I was listening briefly to the program “The Five” on Fox TV, and the comments of Bob Beckel about the Cathy family, which owns and manages the restaurant chain called Chick-fil-A in the United States. They presently are under attack for adhering to the Word of God and placing His institution of marriage and the family, which He established, at the heart of their business practices, just as our Constitutions have put God at the heart of our nations. They honor the family as God created it, and they keep the Law of Moses by honoring and keeping the Sabbath as a day of rest; they do not open their restaurants on Sunday, a practice, which has not caused any financial crisis for them.
You would think it would be almost impossible to target them for the application of their faith to their business practices and turn it into an offensive act against the public, especially, in view of the liberalism and complete lack of morality, which now fill this cultic land. The biggest cult of them all, of course, is the one that is developing from within the country, itself, to which this nation is pandering. It is the homosexual cult with its agenda to homosexualize the nation through the use of the media and a program for the indoctrination of our children within the educational system. Apparently, it would appear that Mr. Beckel cannot tolerate any opposing opinions to this agenda for legalizing sin, or whatever he chooses to call it.
We no longer know the warnings God gave us about the cults, through the prophetic testimony of His Word. We have lost sight of what is right and wrong and, now, by seeing ourselves as little gods, we no longer want God within our nation. Liberal, left-of-center commentators like Bob Beckel think they know how to not only improve on God’s institution of marriage, but also, to set up their own law and proclaim not only God to be a fool, but all such people like the Cathy family, who believe in God and apply His principles to their businesses, to be fools as well, or so he stated.
The mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, has gotten in on the act and has weighed in on the ideology of this successful restaurant business, which has always treated all customers with dignity while on its premises. This is in the nature of the family, which stands for traditional family values and God’s Law. They do nothing but charitable good deeds, and have donated sizeable sums of money to groups, which stand in support of the family’s well-being. But the mayor of Chicago, who welcomes the criminal element of society into his city, can find no place to welcome such people as the Cathy’s and their family-orientated business in his criminal-infested city, known for being full of wind.
Now, Lord Beckel, in all his wisdom and liberalism, weighs in on Chick-fil-A like a tiger going for its prey, claiming it to be only worthy of expulsion from every city of America where they might do business. Our self-appointed Lord Beckel made one of his dumbest, most liberal, uninformed statements yet. This is the same Bob Beckel who, used the “F— word” to denigrate – yes, you guessed it – only Republican women’s mouths, but not those mouths of the liberal left, female Democrats, such as Nancy Pelosi. At the same time he had to apologize for his own out-of-control filthy mouth. He stated clearly, with respect to Chick-fil-A that he would rather rent a place to the Communist party (responsible for the murder of millions upon millions of people) than to this moral, little group of people, who run Chick-fil-A and serve their patrons and country in righteousness.
Was Joshua not warning Americans what would happen to this nation if we were to choose to forget God? Our fate would be to produce jackasses like Beckel, instead of godly people who are an asset to our sagging American society, like the Cathy family. We would pass from the human to the beast and, as opposed to evolution, devil-ution would take place. Only a few short years ago, the world witnessed the birth of a great nation under God; now it is witnessing the death of the same nation, for all the reasons about which Joshua warned us, thousands of years ago.
Did Joshua fight the battle of Chick-fil-A, or has Chick-fil-A not been forced into refighting the battle of Joshua against the cults within our land today?
Post-Script: Chick-fil-A’s Vice President of Public Relations, Don Perry, died yesterday, Friday July 27, 2012, at age 60, from a massive heart attack, during a nation-wide controversy over his restaurant’s stand on family values. He was well-respected, a well-liked media executive among his colleagues and a man who stood on godly principles.
