The Lion King of Babylon versus the Lion King of Judah

Voice of the Kingfisher speaks out  …from a different perspective

The battle is about to begin between the lion king of Babylon and the Lion King of Judah. Do you know who they are and, if not, why not? Perhaps, it is because you are educating yourself with the spiritual food of Secularism, which comes straight from Babylon, instead of eating that which God has provided for His people. Daniel, the prophet, knew the difference between the two, so God gave to him the information we need in order to be able to distinguish between them.

God always shows us in the natural what is happening in the spiritual. He most definitely has given a natural picture of these lion kings and the incredible difference between the two. Let me take you to Egypt where the picture stands clearly before mankind, and has stood there for millennia, for the entire world to see in the natural and found in the media, in books and in museums. The picture of the Babylonian lion king has been on display for mankind during almost the entire known history of the empire-building nations of the world, from beginning to end.

Before we continue in Egypt we need to go back to Genesis to see that God destroyed the first tower-building of man, which was being done by a unified group with a single, religious agenda for reaching heaven by the works of their hands. It was being carried out in the spirit of religion of which Satan is the author with his lies that compromise the truth and liberate men from the truth of God or, rather, so Satan would have mankind believe.

Satan produced the first form of liberalism through religion, and the counterfeit form of government, religion and an economic system, working together to destroy God’s plan for God and man to rule together. It was God’s intention that He would govern the entire world in the Spirit of life and truth, with all things created good, with peace reigning throughout His created world.

The lion king of Babylon is none other than the Antichrist, himself, whether or not he takes the form of pharaoh, emperor, or king. He will establish empire-building governments, always attached to one form of religion or another, and one economic system or another. He went on the warpath to restore Babel in a unified one-world government, one-world religion and a one-world economic system.

Jesus, the Christ, on the other hand, is on a mission from God to restore the world and His people to His government ruled in truth, by a God of truth, partnering with man as it was in the original Garden kingdom of purity, free of sin. All wars surround this spiritual battle between the two, the Antichrist leading his own to death, while the Christ leads His own to life and victory over death.

Satan’s deceptive works always lead to death. So, in Genesis, chapter two, God indicated to man that there would be seven major spiritual flows of satanic spirits coming from seven different empires and from three different rivers as the symbols of the flow. God had divided the people at Babel into nations and scattered them over the earth, which weakened them by creating a variety of governments attached to a variety of religions. Satan has been using these nations ever since to bring back his one-world-order of government in a unity of nations and religion so that he can rule world-wide like the Most High God.

The empires are the body for this beast, called Satan, and the ruler of the particular empire of the day is the man, who is head of state, majestic like a king. Daniel was given a sign of different beasts for each of the different Babylonian empires, with Babylon, itself, being given the sign of the lion, which, one day, would take God’s ruling people of Judah captive. Hence, the testing of Daniel’s faith came in the form of a lion’s den, the empire where he served the king of this world, but where he also served his eternal King of the next world to come, ruled by Christ Jesus.

The first river of the seven world empires to come was the Gihon River, which encompassed the whole land of Cush, pointing to Egypt (see Genesis 2:13). This indicated that Satan, the beast, who wants to be the king of the world, would begin by making the nation of Egypt his body and vessel through which he would work. Pharaoh, the ruler and king over Egypt was its head.

So now, we are ready to go to Egypt to see the picture of Satan’s plan for a return to the One World Order of Babel begun in Egypt, only to end back in Babylon when mission has been completed. Was there ever a better picture in the natural of Satan’s plan for world dominance than that embodied in the sphinx, where you have the body of the lion, the king of the beasts, and the head of a man, the ruler of the first world empire, the Pharaoh?

And there you have it, sitting in all its majesty to this day, as the symbol of the ongoing battle between Satan and God for ruler-ship of this world in which God has allowed man his own will to make the choice for himself, between the two. There is but one choice. The sphinx guards religious temples and tombs; the body of the Lion of Judah guards His apostolic church, with Jesus at its head as the chief Cornerstone. He guards the truth of the Scriptures, but never guards any religious systems or its temples.

However, there were two more rivers of satanic, spiritual waters leading to death, and they were, first, the Hiddekel going toward the east of Assyria, and, finally, the Euphrates, which would flow during the entire Babylonian system of four empires, the last of which was divided in two to make seven world empires in all. God showed us from the beginning where history would come to a climax of spiritual fullness, with a final world battle for the ruler-ship of the world, at the end. The beauty is that Bible prophecy tells us that the victory belongs to the Lion King of Judah, our Redeemer who lives and defeated Satan long ago on the cross.

Now, God called out one faithful and obedient man to be the father of a people on earth, who would belong to God, would receive His blessing and come out of all the nations of the world to form His house of Israel. He would begin with a nation to show what kingdom living under Him would require of unredeemed, sinful men. The nation of Israel demonstrated to man that she could not redeem herself, but rather would need a Redeemer to do it for her. Israel failed miserably, yet God remains faithful, concerning His message to Abraham about blessing all nations.

When the next world empire of Assyria carried the northern tribes of Israel, because of their spiritual harlotry, away from the land God had given to them, He saved the tribe of the southern part of Israel called Judah for the sake of their father David’s throne, which would endure forever. The tribe was called Judah, which became the Israel of God destined for kingdom rule.

However, they were still an unredeemed people and they, too, fell into sin, which led to the third empire of Satan and back to the Babylonian Empire, as the vehicle God would use to chastise His people until they would reject the rule of the beast in their spiritual lives and return to their God, who yearned to pour out His spirit of life upon them, once more.

It was there in Babylon that Daniel saw that satanic empire as a beastly ruler-ship; he saw it as a lion, with its king, Nebuchadnezzar, finally being turned into a beast of the field for a seven-year period of time. Babylon had begun the process of moving toward the final showdown over God’s covenant promise to Abraham, which now rested upon the head of the tribe of Judah.

It would take four more beastly empires, each having their own sphinx-type style of a national, beastly body attached to a worldly, would-be-god at the head as its ruler. The sphinx of stone, cut out by the tools of man as a beast with the head of a modern Caesar, would eventually, as the empires grew bigger and bigger and the beast grew stronger and stronger, stand before the Lion of Judah, Jesus. Satan has already made his first big challenge, unsuccessfully, at the cross, against the Man who came to redeem mankind.

However, this Man could not be contained by the grave, which is the destination of sinful men, but not of one born of the Spirit of life. His resurrection is the foundation for the body of a church of apostolic stones, which no tools of the hands of religion have worked, serving in the army of the Lion King of kings and Lord of lords, who became the Head and the chief Cornerstone for the body. And so we have the second picture of the lion’s body, the apostolic church, with the Lion’s head being that of Jesus, the Ruler over all men.

God always wanted a marriage with man, His creation of dust, in the Spirit of life, so they could rule together for an eternity of being light to His universe. He does so in peace and goodness. Wherever God does a good work, Satan attempts to lure man into darkness and death, turning unfaithful men into harlots of Babylon where they chase after religion and idols, instead of pursuing the Lord and His truth. But, the Lord has promised His church will become the bride He seeks, for her head will not be turned toward the empire and its ruler.

The Great Sphinx of Giza will eventually disintegrate and return to dust, but the bride will not. This is the choice all men have to make between the two, choosing one or the other to be ruler and head of your life. For the church is the lion body of Christ, and when He roars, she roars too. The King has reached out His scepter to her, allowing her to speak for Him, at this time of the end, and become His voice to a dying mankind, with her Beloved – the headship over her.

“Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s children shall bow down before you. Judah is a lion’s whelp; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He bows down, he lies down as a lion; and as a lion, who shall rouse him? The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the people. Binding his donkey to the vine, and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, He washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes. His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk (Genesis 49:8-12).”

The choice is between empire rule, for a very short time, and kingdom rule, for an eternity. The house of Israel will grow spiritually through the union of Christ and His bride of the church, never to disappear like the Babylonian system, which will return to the dust of the earth.

The final days are marked by a seven-year battle, the signs for which appear when the earth is filled with evil and violence as it was in the days of Noah. This very day as I write, eastern nations are gathering together in demonstrations of violence, led by Egypt, to show their hatred for America, which God ruled as He once ruled Israel. And the Great Sphinx of Giza stands there in Egypt to this day, at the very heart of the world’s problems.

Satan must break the relationship of God to His people in order to destroy this final strong-hold of witnesses to the truth against the great Satan of the empires and the little men who would be giants among men, as their gods. Satan is still snarling over David, the father of the throne of Judah, who defeated Satan’s man, Goliath. He is furious, still, about the Red Sea closing over Egypt to destroy the armies of Pharaoh and the power of his empire. Satan is forming a power plan as I write, around that Red Sea, which will be based on radical religion, radical government and the economic destruction of the West.

No one knows the times, but Jesus told us to watch for the signs, which include nations rising against nations, famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places. These will be the beginnings of sorrows. Have I missed anything we are already experiencing in our daily lives around the world? They come just before Satan delivers the world into its darkest period of tribulation and hatred toward all who hold dear the name of Jesus. Surely it is now, as it was in the days of Noah, as we see the earth filling with violence and all the evil man can muster.

One lion king stands before the other, like a king in a deep dark forest, causing the spiritual seawaters to roar in his rage against God. But the Lion of Judah and His bride stand strong and firm; for the victory belongs to the Lord and His church of the overcomers who have trusted in Him and obeyed His commandments.

Woe to the fools in America who had victory placed in their hands, but from their own hands, are giving it away in order to become part of the final world empire, only to lose the kingdom. Are you one of those fools to whom God gave His book and guide to life, only to have left it on the shelf, collecting dust? Are you one of those fools who shouted, “No” to God as Ruler over America and “Yes” to the little Caesar who stood before them on the DNC stage?

“But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be (Matthew 24:36-39).”

“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him (Matthew 24:44).”
