Those Slow Camels of the Desert – What an Offense!

Voice of the Kingfisher speaks out  …from a different perspective

We now have another offense to the Muslims in this land, the latest being advertising for Coca Cola – the all-American soda pop, which the rest of the world loves. Apparently, the offense has been caused by an ad for the Super Bowl, which reaches a large segment of the American population, at one time. Various groups are pictured in the desert racing toward their objective – a cool bottle of Coca Cola.

There isn’t anything likely about this spoof; it is pure situational humor used to make us realize there is nothing more refreshing in this world than a cool bottle of Coke, when one finds oneself in the thirstiest of circumstances, in the desert. It is nothing, more or less, other than a ridiculous situation meant to catch the attention of the viewer.

Various unlikely groups are depicted as competing together for the goal of this refreshing drink – cowboys speeding on horseback, with the Badlanders racing over the hill from behind on their motorcycles, while another unlikely group of Vegas showgirls brings up the rear in a bus working its way through the sand. At the end of the groups are Arabs on camels plodding along until they come to a stop in discouragement, which is where the ad actually begins, in order to make the point.

When we think of Arabs in their natural habitat of the desert, we think of them traveling on camels, which, of course, cannot be compared to the other modes of travel for speed. However, the point of the advertising is to show the discouragement of the slower-traveling Arabs on camelback, unable to reach that ‘cool Coke’ quickly enough to possess it. All groups contribute something to the ridiculous nature of the ad in the interest of making a point that people will do anything to get a Coke for their thirst, and what thirstier place than the desert to find an oasis, which appears as that great thirst-quencher – a mirage of a ‘cool Coke’?

Now, some Arabs living in America, the land of freedom of expression, through the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), have entered a complaint against the ad for Coke under the label of ‘offense’. The Arab Americans, apparently, feel that portraying Arabs as losing the race due to their mode of traveling on slow camels is somehow an offense against all Arab people.

Americans publish cartoons regularly, which poke fun at every element of society, and advertising employs humor to create cartoon-type-ads to make a point – i.e., salesmen, whom even babies can make look ridiculous. Such advertising appears regularly on television. Should salesmen be up in arms at being marginalized and offended in society by babies? The thought would never occur to this society, which enjoys freedom of expression in America. The problem is that the Arab culture is not compatible with American culture, and it is time Americans ceased catering to a people bent on changing the American way of life.

It is time we take a very good look at the nature of the new United-Nations-promoted-offense-laws being inflicted upon Americans by other cultures, which now recognize the accommodation of an American president to such laws, willing to alter the freedom of expression of the American people in order to ultimately promote Islamic, Shariah law. The laws of offense have become a big tool, which the Muslim world is using in America to destroy the nation’s singular freedoms such as are found in no other country, making her the envy of the rest of the world caught in the controls of religious/state dictatorships.

At this point, I wish to claim my legitimate offense against the Arab nations from which these American Muslims are coming, bringing with them their history of vile practices and offenses, which are very real, and no laughing matter, whatsoever. They are killing, many times by beheadings, thousands of Christians who innocently try to practice their faith, which includes spreading the gospel of truth to all nations of the world, who, in turn, are free to accept or reject it as they see fit. Now compare this treachery against Christians to a Coca Cola ad, which is a mere spoof. Which is really deserving of the word ‘offense’?

Compare the wicked deeds of the murdering Arabs against innocent people, many of whom are Americans, who are forcing nothing upon anyone. The Muslims object to the simple offer of Jesus as an option worth considering. The thing, which makes Muslims so deathly afraid, is the possibility of doors being opened to liberty and life where there were once just religious controls and death. They do not mention offense in Muslim nations: they simply kill whoever dares to challenge their killing religion that offers no hope to its people.

If Arabs gain a foothold in America, by making such foolish claims of offense, which could prevent Coca Cola from running a humorous, effective ad program, the next step is Shariah law, which will allow in this country, as it does in Arab countries, the right to kill for religious reasons and for gods that do not exist, or are even recognized in America. You cannot stand on the truth of the Bible and support such dangerous, religious laws at the same time, all of which could take hold by acknowledging new laws of offense. Laws allowing killings are but a step away.

As Americans, we should abhor such laws, for the Law of God is made up of laws of life, and the Word of truth, the Bible, is a book of life. The Koran is a not a book of truth or life; it is a book of religion in which Islamic laws of death are laid out.

And so the fool will point to stoning in the Bible as a rebuttal, with absolutely no understanding of why it was acknowledged in the Law of Moses. The reason there were ever stonings was to show the necessity to remove the sin of evil from the camp of God’s people before it destroyed the entire camp. God does not wink at sin and the wages of sin are death. A calculated, single stoning could prevent the destruction of an entire camp. God is a holy God who does not permit sin of any sort in His kingdom.

To the contrary, Arab killings are a counterfeit practice of using killings to propagate evil. My offense with the Arab-Muslim community is exactly that – they will bring evil to America’s shores, insisting we bow to it or be killed by it. Where is the justice of my country’s justice system, which is in place to uphold, and not destroy, the truths of the Bible, and to protect those who keep God’s Law and stand on it?

Where is the justice for my offense against real evil coming at me, as opposed to the perceived offense implied, but non-existent, in a cartoon-type ad for Coca Cola, which harms no one? Perhaps it merely reminds Muslims exactly why they are in America; in most cases they have escaped a backward culture of killing for a culture of life, which offers them privileges they never had on their camels in the desert of Arabia.

My suggestion to their demands is this. If they are willing to give up their killings, which are an offense to me when they take pleasure in the deaths of innocent people, then I would willingly oppose the right of the Coca Cola Company to run the ad in question at the Super Bowl as a fair exchange. For me, it would be a far more-than-fair exchange. However, I can assure you that no Muslim, radical or otherwise, will give up the Mohammed-given right-to-kill, which is in agreement with the religious doctrines of the Koran.

The antichrist spirit of evil hates the Spirit of Christ, just as the darkness cannot stand the light. Satan kills while Jesus saves. These two forces are at work in the world, and what it boils down to is the fact Muslims hate Christ and want to stop the offense truth has against the lies of religion; for Jesus renders Mohammed null and void as a prophet of any sort or kind.

Peter describes what truth means to the believers in Jesus and to His enemies, equating the believers to stones and Jesus to the Chief Cornerstone of His church, while those enemies of truth, such as the Muslims, will see Him as a Rock of offense to their religious system.

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,” and “a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.”

They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation (1 Peter 2:4-12).

America will always be an offense to wicked nations because she has legislated the Bible to be the only standard of truth for the lowest and the highest offices in this land. It will always offend the wicked as did Jesus offend them before America did. One is forced to ask whether or not there is a legitimate place in America for such a corrupt organization as that of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), which has a totally different standard of a killing religion, as opposed to the American standard of truth. There will never be anything but offense to those who do not, or refuse to, accept our standard of truth.
