There is something America needs to understand about her two constitutional forms of law. Both Canada and the United States are dependent upon a God whose Law is the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments divide the nations that are the religious nations of the world from Israel and America, nations under the supremacy of the God of truth, who honor His Law, given only for His people who were in the lands He gave to them.
The other nations, known as the gentile nations, each and every one of them, are under satanic rule. The Israel of God of the pre-apostolic church era no longer exists. Israel, a creation of the United Nations within the land given to the Hebrews, is simply another religious/state like all other religious states; for God drove His nation from the land, and scattered it among the gentiles in judgment.
This brings us back to the importance of the Law of God and its place in the two countries of America, one of which declared that God should have dominion from sea to sea, and the other – the people would trust in God. America was in full covenant with God, both Canada and the United States. What, then, does this mean?
God clearly outlines in Exodus, chapter 19 the covenant requirements concerning the house of Jacob and the full house of Israel. If they will obey and keep God’s covenant of the Law, then they will be above all people who are already God’s, but as the Father of the house, He will make these people His kingdom. His desire was to spiritually wed this people to make them priests and a holy nation. As a bride might say, “I do”, the nation Israel spoke to Moses saying, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do (Exodus 19:8).”
In the book of Deuteronomy, the Law is ratified, and God states that the Word is near Israel that she might do it. It is truth and is set before her as life and good, death and evil (see Deuteronomy 30:15). This is to say, in so far as God commands His nation to walk in His ways, keep His commandments, His statutes and His judgments that they might live and multiply, the Lord will bless His nation in the land she is about to possess.
If this nation were to choose to turn away and worship or serve other gods, then she would surely perish and her days would not – no, would not be prolonged in the land. Set before Israel were life and death, blessing and cursing, good and evil, and the command was to choose life that the people and their descendants might live.
There is a phrase within the Ten Commandments of which few have taken notice. It is this: “that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you (Exodus 20:12).” The Law did not apply to the religious/states surrounding Israel, ruled by Satan as the gentile nations. The knowledge of good comes only from God, while the knowledge of evil comes from Satan. The gentiles are compromised nations.
Since light has no place with darkness, all other nations but Israel were under the curse of death. If Israel were to break her marriage vows with God and bring the gods of cults into the Land God gave her, to embrace their national gods, she would find herself cursed like the nations and her land taken away from her. She would quickly find herself back in the satanic world from which God took her to wed Him (see Ezekiel, chapter 16).
The consequences are seen in Ezekiel 16:38-39: “And I will judge you as women who break wedlock or shed blood are judged; I will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy. I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your shrines and break down your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.”
Before this would happen, Jesus came to establish His apostolic church, built by His apostles, entrusted with the gospels of truth about Jesus, the Cornerstone and the Son of God; the apostles became sons of truth, in whom no religion would remain. At the cross the nature of Israel crossed over from the natural to the spiritual to become the church of spiritual Israel. She went out to the nations with truth at the same time as Israel was driven from the Land as a cursed nation.
The church grew and flourished until Romanism took it captive. And captive she remained, until a man called Martin Luther began the process of separation from the religious controls of the Roman state, which were alive and well within the Christian Church, as a result of her having become the religious brainchild of the Roman Emperor, Constantine. With the separation of the church from religious Christianity and her restoration to the truth of the gospels, the Lord God again provided a land for His church, which would reject the kings of this world and their religion, in order for God to rule over it. There would be a New World and a new land, which would grow by conquering the hazards of the wilderness and its native population, as did Israel, the nation, before her.
America became God’s Land for those He had brought out of the East to live in a special Land where He would be Supreme Ruler from sea to sea and the One in whom the nation trusted. There were no cultic gods honored in this land. It was the Word of God, the truth, which ruled the government, the courtroom and the classroom.
All oaths and statements of truth were sworn on the Bible, by all people alike, except those few who affirmed the truth as non-believers. The Ten Commandments were the root of the Law for the New World, which resembled the kingdom of God, being like a beacon of light to the nations as the Statue of Liberty welcomed the newcomers to the land.
It was a reminder that this was a place of refuge from the cultic gods, left behind in the old world, where truth, not religion ruled. This is all to say, until the day when the sickness of liberalism was found in the nation’s midst and the gates of her borders were left unsecured without the Bible, allowing the cults to pour into the land with their evil gods of death.
The breath of God is in the wind and as easily as He can breathe the Spirit of Life on His people, He can also breathe the judgment of His wrath, which allows Satan to carry out his works of destruction. The comfort of God’s peace will give way to the spirit of tornadoes, floods and fires, as judgment begins to fall on His people in the same land where they once honored their Heavenly Father and were obedient to His Law.
How long will He walk with a cursed people? It would appear Jesus is about to return to set up His kingdom with His church, and not the nation Israel, returning with Him to Jerusalem. This time He is coming to rule and drive out all the evil nations, including America, which has chosen the road of evil along with her older sister, the nation, Israel, to reject Jesus and the Word of Truth.
Woe to America, which is about to be driven from the land, where her people once called upon God to bless it. In a beautiful song called God Bless America, Irving Berlin, an American Jew, penned the music and words that expressed his love of country and caused patriotic hearts to soar to the heights as they called upon God for His blessing. It wrenches one’s heart today, to realize how far we have fallen away to the point of rejecting God and His Land. In so doing, we will lose this incredible land of history that will never come this way again in a world without Jesus, the only Keeper of the Law.
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you (Exodus 20:12).”
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. And whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:17-20)!
