Has Christmas in America not become a festival of lights? If an astronaut were circling the earth on Christmas Eve, would he not see a blaze of light over the North American continent, greater than that seen over any other continent on earth and greater than at any other time of the year?
God said, “Let there be light” and by the equations of truth found only in the Bible, He was saying many things, which Jesus would come to earth to declare of Himself. He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life – the bread of life, the light of the world, the door, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the life, and the true vine.”
In fact, when He said, “Let there be light”, all of these things were inherent in God’s plan for creation and put in place before He began His six days of labor to create a Garden where all things were prepared good for man. God was preparing only the best for His final act of creation, which was to create a man and a woman, made in His image. They were created to share in the creative process through fruitfulness, the result of a union between a man and a woman in the expression of the love of God. They were to resemble God in all of the aspects, which light means to this world. Jesus was the standard for son-ship of the Garden, a kingdom to be ruled by God.
When those lights blaze out into the universe from North America at Christmastime, it is a declaration of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who is all those things – truth, the bread of life, the door, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the life, and the true vine. Above all, He is the way and the only way back to God for mankind, separated by sin, to once again share in a Garden kingdom on earth with his Father and Partner in creating more lights to light up the universe. Man can only fulfill his partnership role with God by being a light in the image of original light, which means he must be set free of sin.
How foolish for man to think that, because he changes the greeting of ‘Merry Christmas’ to ‘Happy holidays’, he can take Christ out of Christmas, along with His light and truth from the world! How foolish for man to think he can celebrate all religions with Christmas lights! There is no light in religion of any sort, only darkness. Light is Jesus, along with His truth, and God established Jesus long before He ever established man and his ideas. The light is His creative plan and will remain so no matter what man thinks, does or believes.
Jesus was laid in a manger as a new-born Babe, and the light from a star of the universe was moved by God to light the way for the wise men of kings and for shepherds in the fields to come to the very spot where the Babe lay, so that they could bow before Him and worship Him. God was making a pretty powerful statement, which stated that this Babe would become King of kings and Lord of lords as the divine King-priestly Shepherd sent as the light from above.
It is interesting how important the light was, that first Christmas morning, shining brightly over the place where the Babe lay. The light will lead all men to the feet of the Savior, one day, to bow before Him. It was as though God had said that creation were to begin here anew with the same command that He made in the beginning, when He said, “Let there be light”.
And, why was He laid in that manger where the animals were fed?
Man, in his rebellion of sin, had become sons of the beast, their father, the devil, and there, before the animals, which represented mankind, lay the truth and the door to life and to the kingdom. This was no ordinary baby, but rather a divine Child born to live, teach, die and save mankind, for He was the Shepherd of His own flock, which He would lead to safety through the cross to salvation on the other side.
He would defeat death as the chief Cornerstone of His flock’s church of little stones called the apostles. So many stones throughout biblical history have pointed to His church. There were the stones Moses used for an altar, the rock he struck to bring forth water in the wilderness and the stones Joshua placed in the Jordan River, along with the ones he placed on the other side. Then, there is the stone that crushes the statue of Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel, and the stones of the book of Revelation – the white stones with a new name written on them.
No, this was no ordinary Babe indeed, lying in that manger. He would one day shake heaven and earth in judgment as the returning Lion King of Judah. He alone will sit in judgment over all of mankind, the religious of the empires and the faithful of the true church alike.
I wonder what the hope of acquittal is for those who have tried to diminish the importance of the Light and Rock, which crushes, at Christmastime or any other time. I wonder what the hope of acquittal is for those politicians and compliant shepherds who have tried to remove His name and His Word of truth from His nation where He has dominion from sea to sea. I wonder what the hope of acquittal is for those who have tried to remove the name and Law of God from a nation, the Founding Fathers of which put their trust in Him. I wonder what hope of acquittal there is for a leader of this same nation who declares himself to be a messiah in His place, trying to focus the light on himself in an incredible display of pride. I wonder what hope of acquittal there is for a Laodicean church, which allowed the light of Christ to go out of the nation to be replaced with respect for religion, the brainchild of Satan.
Jesus is the Light of the world. Let us never forget that the world began with the voice of God declaring the light and that history will draw to a close with His stones of the revived, true, apostolic church becoming the last witnessing voice to the Light, preparing the way for the coming Light of the world again! His name is Jesus. His light will be seen flashing from out of the East to the West where it will come to rest upon His throne on this earth encircled by a rainbow of light for evermore.
“For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be (Matthew 24:27).”
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God (Revelation 4:1-5).
He is the Light of the rainbow broken for you and me. Are they the lights of Christmas, which light this nation for you, or are they just the lights of another religious holiday?
