How is it that we do not understand the difference between truth and religion? Is it so difficult that, at this stage in history, the true church should still be confusing the two?
The first command the God of truth gave to His newly created human being dealt with this issue. He gave a clear picture of a dividing wall between the two, with truth and the tree of life on one side, and the lie that created a belief system, or religion, along with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, on the other side.
When man sinned he moved from one side under God’s ruler-ship to the other side under Satan. He no longer was a living human being, but a dying human being. His problem was called sin – that filth, which separates man from the holiness of God, with no common ground between the two. The only way to clean His creation up was to wash it clean of sin, which can be equated to the removal of religion from the world.
At this point in Genesis, God reveals what the washing process will be, and it will require the river of life, or the waters of heaven, to wash through the empires of history until all religion/state and monetary systems are washed clean from the world. However, this will mean allowing the systems to grow to their fullness like a boil ready for lancing. The attachment between the three empire systems ruled by man is such that they are interwoven like a spider’s web and so, in the end, the systems will arise to their fullness, only to then fall as it all comes tumbling down to be seen no more, forever.
The empire-building nations are Satan’s plan, which keeps them united and keeps men dependant under his control. There is no free will of the human being to fight the system; all power rests in the little gods at the top, who control the web, like the spider itself.
God’s plan in truth is a very different government plan, whereby man is at liberty to choose his own fate. He can remain free of these systems in so far as he obeys God’s Law, which liberates him from such captivity as that found when men are tied to religion, rather than to the truth of God. There is no justice in Satan’s plan; there is only justice in God’s rule. The religious/state controlling governments, under the ruler-ship of man, became the empire-building governments that offered a state religion, which is dictated by the ruler. Bear in mind that the atheist has a form of religion, whereby he believes that God does not exist.
God never offered an empire of religion under man; He offers only a heavenly kingdom on earth of ruler-ship in truth, under His Son Jesus. In the Garden of Eden He provided for those who would choose a way back from death to the tree of life. This way would run through history by means of a separated nation from all the religious nations or gentile nations of the world; the name of this nation, made up of twelve tribes, was called Israel.
God, who called Himself the God of truth, would rule over His chosen people Israel, by giving them His moral Law, which is good for man’s well-being. This Law would forbid the practice of religious compromise with the very first commandment. Unfortunately, Israel would not obey the Law; she loved the empire’s pagan gods more than she loved God, and the people would place them before Him in their lives. Eventually, their disobedience would fill the entire nation of Israel with a religion called Judaism, in the same way that leaven grows to fill the whole loaf. Jesus warned the people about the leaven of the Pharisees.
Now, God used the seawater to destroy Egypt, and set Israel free. However, the waters failed to purge Israel of the Egyptian idols she had come to know and love in Egypt, while captive to that empire. She would either have to change her ways or undergo more washing, which could prove fatal to the nation. The golden calf, made of Egyptian gold, was more important to them than the God who had just delivered His people from back-breaking, life-destroying slavery. They loved the perceived power of the world’s gold to the pure gold of worship and the power that comes from God.
Israel made the mistake of demonstrating to the entire world, then and now, that religion, the government controls of man and his economic system, were preferable to worshiping a God of truth who could perform miracles, and lead the nation in victory over her enemies. God warned her, over and over, through His prophets, but she would not listen to them then any more than we will listen to them now.
He told them exactly how it would be when disaster and doom would overcome Satan’s system of empirical government, which lived by the sword of death. There would be six more world-empires to come, with Satan intent on destroying Israel and spiritual Israel to come, lest they turn back and worship the Most High God instead of worshiping him.
Both Satan and God have used the same six-empire systems, but for different purposes. Satan used them to destroy all semblance of truth by conquering Israel along with all the other nations of the world to finally bundle them together, as we see them today, in that package we call the United Nations. God allowed these evil empires to capture His own people in order to chastise them and bring forth something good, as at Creation.
He allowed His clean spiritual waters to wash over Israel, taking her filth and pollution with them to the empires where they belonged. The disobedient, who would not repent while loving their idols more than they loved God, were driven from the Land, as was Cain driven from the Garden, to have his inheritance eventually scattered among the nations, where it would share in the destruction of the judgment he had brought upon himself. It was always the same story with God’s people; they would believe the lies of religion when they would not believe the truth. There would be no hope of salvation for them until they might once again cry out to God.
The empire process bred full-blown religion in Israel as the truth of God and His prophets disappeared until Jesus came some 400 years later as the way and the truth. He came with an offer of life through His testimony of the truth and His willingness to die so that truth could once again rule over our lives, in place of the religious/state.
He set in place His witnesses to the truth as His apostolic church, which was established on the rock solid foundation of truth. It was called to face the giant of religious/empires like David had faced the giant Goliath by donning the spiritual armor of truth, void of all religion, to witness to victory that comes only through God’s partnership with men of truth. The stones of David’s sling-shot served to prophetically point to the stones of the church going out in the power of the Lord. The true church knows the victory is ultimately hers when she is in partnership with her Beloved on the right foundation; for He promised the gates of hell would not prevail against her.
Once Israel had united with Rome in every way, Jesus then took His own out of her polluted state to place His church on the way to the kingdom in truth, void of any religious ties. But true to the deception again of Satan, he used Caesar, ruler of the empire, to take the church captive into the religion of Christianity as Satan had done with the nation through Judaism. Both had been left in possession of the Scriptures but they both became compromised with the paganism of Romanism, a part of the Babylonian system.
The church became romanized by being attached to the harlotry of Babylon in the final empire. Once again, spiritual Israel had been taken into captivity to serve Satan, the author of religion as had Israel before her been taken into slavery in Egypt, where she served Pharaoh, the agent of Satan. But God left His people within the protection of Pharaoh, where He grew His nation, just as He left spiritual Israel within the protecting denominations of Christianity, in order to grow His true church.
You could say both of them had been protected by the enemy, until God was ready to bring forth a pure people, chastised by slavery and ready to stand on truth instead of religion. She must take up the covenant relationship to demonstrate to the world in truth and obedience that liberty only comes from God’s moral Law, which will be the standard of the kingdom on earth, when Jesus returns to rule in truth and never in religion.
The bride of the church must be separated, pure and ready to stand free of religious control in a nation separated from the other nations of the world. She was called to demonstrate the bounty and peace of God as spiritual nation and nation united as one under God in the church/state of America, with governments and judiciary sworn in to stand on truth and support the Law of God. This was no Christian religious nation nor did it have a religious high priest other than Jesus. He will not share His glory with another. Truth in the name of Jesus was the ruler over America.
Religion had no place in the American Constitutions. Until God’s people begin to understand that God is a God of truth and that He hates religion, they shall continue to remain blinded by it, as was the apostle Paul until he saw the light. Believers will never understand why the gates of hell are prevailing against Christianity. It is being destroyed today with the lies of Secular Humanism polluting it the full gamut from Catholicism to Pentecostalism, including all the denominations in between them.
The Bible makes the last call to the true church to come out of her, that harlot of Babylon, to stand only on truth. In point of fact, the true church no longer has any place within the dividing walls of Christianity. There are no good or bad Christians; there are only religious Christians, just like there are only religious Muslims. No good can come out of them; it is when that which is good separates from them to stand on a different foundation that we might say the church has become good, like all other things, which the Lord created on the dawn of creation.
The nations of America, Israel, Russia, Europe and Japan, to name a few, will all go the way of Satan with his One World Order, but the church will stand apart as the last stronghold of the truth of God by overcoming religion to become the 144,000 witnesses to the truth. She will only do so by knowing the difference between truth and religion and never being caught in the spider’s web created with the interweaving of religion to the empires and economic system set up those six millennia ago by Satan in the Garden of Eden.
