The Bible

Voice of the Kingfisher speaks out  …from a different perspective

How much time do you spend reading books written by men, on any number of subjects, according to the knowledge of men? How much time do you spend reading political news on the web? How much time do you spend reading magazines about fashion, recipes, popular mechanics, or any other form of “how to” advice?

All are based on man’s knowledge. Yet, when man finds himself in a cataclysmic state of affairs, does he call out to man for help, or does he call to a God about whom he knows nothing or very little, at best? If he believes God has the power to save him from disasters, why is it he reads only that which is written from within the limitations of man’s knowledge and does not read the greatest book ever written about divine knowledge? Why has he neglected it and rarely opened this incredible book about power living?

God tells us in His divinely inspired book that some of us are going to share in His power with Him – that divine power for which we pray. No other author can make such a claim. Science can open up many doors of understanding and can lead us to greater ways of harnessing the elements for our use, but to receive bodies, which can supersede the natural – that is a miracle, and one promised by a Miracle Worker who left His glory from God behind, in order to become fully man in the natural, yet still fully God in the spiritual; for there was none of the seed of man in Him.

One might ask why one should believe the Bible is any different from any other religious book. It all begins with this most flawed statement about the Bible, for all other books, at best, are nothing more than religious books unless inspired by the Spirit, but the Bible doesn’t have one ounce of religion in it. It is a solid book of truth.

How can one substantiate this statement? The Bible itself declares its own truth as its own witness and backs up the fact by the spirit in which it is given. It is the testimony of Jesus from beginning to end, and it is written by forty-some different writers, led by the Spirit of God, which is given to them as prophecy. Not 1/1000, not 1/100, not 1/10 of the Bible is prophecy, but rather 100% of it is prophecy. “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10).”

No one writer, let alone forty of them, could write every Word in the spirit of prophecy. More importantly, there is a single thread of prophecy, running through each book of the sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation, which connects one to the other. The books of Genesis, Daniel and Revelation are so intertwined with prophecy leading to fulfillment in this very day in which we live that we can only marvel at the magnificence of God’s work in creating such a book. It began with the writings of Moses, to open up a complete history going all the way back to creation, while coming to completion in our time.

What we fail to understand is that Adam died after living through nearly a millennium of history, while some of those who lived with him lived long enough to also be alive in the days of Noah whose sons were alive in the days of Abraham. The oral history of the nation Israel was sacrosanct to a people never allowed to forget their heritage. The lineage of every man, woman and child would be rehearsed daily to the point that some can claim their tribal inheritance to this day, back to the sons of Jacob within national Israel. Scribes spent their days writing and rewriting Scriptures from beginning to end should one error be made in the process; absolute accuracy was that important to them.

Above all, God equipped and sent His prophets to the people as His voice of warning to an erring nation that ignored the first commandment and walked away from Him. No other nation of this world, prior to the time of Jesus, produced prophets. Through His work on the cross, the nation Israel was transformed into a spiritual nation and the prophet’s role was transformed to that of the apostle, whereby the voice for truth of the prophet became the witness to truth of the apostle. Many can prophesy, but few are called to the office of the apostle and given the authoritative voice of God. The apostle is taught directly by Jesus, either in the natural, as were the twelve taught, or in the spirit, in the manner in which the apostle Paul was taught and the bride of Christ will be taught by revelation after a personal encounter with the living Lord.

It is here that religions depart from the truth of God. Take Islam as an example. Mohammed did not come out of the spiritual nation of Israel; he was born 570 years after Christ in Mecca. He was not led by any truth that lined up with the Bible and he created a religion based on lies, murder, sexual immorality and the abuse of women by men. He was never a prophet, but rather was responsible for a religious book, good only for the burning, which hasn’t got one ounce of prophecy in it. There is no spiritual guidance offered by God; it is a man-constructed, man-taught and man-enacted religion, which leads to pain, suffering, suicide, violence, wars and ultimately to death. There is no heaven of virgins, waiting as a reward for the evil deeds of Muslim men, carrying out the dictates of such a destructive religion.

There is no heavenly reward for anyone depending on any religion to be the pathway to the kingdom of God on earth. Outside of truth, there is only religion, which is made up of the belief systems of men who accept the lie that God does not speak truth and that His Word is not the final say on matters of life and death.

This message comes straight from Satan, as recorded in the third chapter of Genesis, right within the very Garden of creation. It was from the beginning that God would deal with Satan to bring about his final demise, along with all of those who had chosen, throughout history, to believe his lies. God would actually use his evil to chastise and purify His own creation before He would totally destroy him and all with him who would reject the truth for a lie.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” And the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:1-5).”

God had set the rules for life and death, but Eve would believe the lie before she would accept the truth about her freely-given partnership with God. The world will believe what men say, but they will not open the book of truth to even discover what God says. Now, in God’s own nation under His rule, we, the people of God have allowed the enemy of God, Satan, to tell us and our children that His Word must be kept from us, God’s own people.

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig trees together and made themselves coverings (Genesis 3:6-7).

The flesh had won the battle over the spirit, and both Adam and Eve knew they had become a shameful thing before the Lord God. They tried to cover their sin instead of confessing it, for they had gone from children of God to children of the deceiver, as would the fruit of their union, henceforth, produce only more little deceivers or sons of the beast, without the Spirit of life and truth in them.

It is for this reason Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).” And He chose to deliver this message to a Pharisee, the most religious of the religious men, who could recite Scripture, but had no earthly understanding as he stood before his very God, incarnate, fumbling his way mentally through the above message, desperately trying to understand a second birth from the womb. Jesus tried to explain spiritual matters to a natural mind that actually preferred the religious lies of Satan to searching the Scriptures for the prophecy, which points to the truth. Jesus’ next words took him back to Genesis and the prophetic message of the spiritual empire rivers versus the Pishon, which surrounded the Garden.

Jesus went on to explain to ears, which really had trouble hearing the truth, that there was a new spiritual water required in men’s lives, which only comes from above and from His body as the Son of God. It does not bubble up from beneath as the water separated from the world of creation, but returned to it when the spiritual waters of the devil, sin and death again took hold at the time man ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5).”

And the foolish, religious Christians argue over a sprinkling or a tank baptism while doing the religious thing, but rejecting the weightier matter of a spiritual change of spiritual water flowing into our lives. All that is required is a heartfelt cry to God to have the Spirit returned to you, so that you can open Scripture and really come to know who Jesus is as God. The Spirit will then take your hand and lead you, but only if you offer the tithe of love back to the Lord who carries you in the spirit with the full Law right back to the throne of God, whence you came.

For this to happen, you must love truth and hate the lie, so much so that you love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment of the New Covenant (see Matthew 22:37), which replaces man’s 1/10 tithe of the Mosaic Law of the Old Covenant, required by God from every living being. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself, and on these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets, said Jesus (see Matthew 22:39-40). You can clearly see this leaves Mohammed out in left field, but not as a prophet and fielder on God’s prophetic team of apostles.

Open your Bible and call on the Spirit, with a heart-felt cry, to come into your life! God is just waiting for you to do so, in order for you to come to know joy unspeakable. You will never to be the same again; for the answers of life and death are revealed in this book and are found nowhere else. Would it not be worth a read to learn the truth and come to know it without any doubt, as opposed to reading nothing but the philosophies and ideas of men coming from the carnal mind, when you, and whosoever desires, are able to tap into the divine so easily? God merely needs your heart, your time and your commitment, and He will do the rest.
